Francesca's Forno is located right in the heart of Wicker Park & Bucktown - directly at North, Damen and Milwaukee Avenue. Francesca's closed the Summer 2011 for several months in order to revamp its look and menu.

 

The changes have been very positive.  The huge new windows open on to Milwaukee Avenue and the bar also faces Milwaukee Avenue. Prior to the make-over the bar was tucked away in the back of the restaurant closer to Damen Avenue. 

But Francesca's offers more than people-watching. Sister of the Francesca restaurants throughout the city, Francesca's offers a casual, comfortable atmosphere and innovative twists on old favorites. You have your choice of everything from spinach-filled ravioli in cheese sauce, rigatoni in tomato-basil sauce to grilled salmon or roasted tilapia.

Brunch is one of the best-kept secrets in the neighborhood.

Francesco's is great. Excellent food. Terrific service and you can't beat the location. Brunch is amazing also.

I loved every other Francesca's I've been to except for this one! In fact, it's my favorite restaurant minus this one. When I went, the service was terrible-we made a reservation and got there a little early and they didn't have our table ready for about 15 minutes after our reservation and never apologized. Our waiter rarely came around, it was so crowded in there that you were basically sharing a dinner with the people at the table next to you, and they were out of a couple of the options on the menu (although the waiter didn't warn me of this until after I ordered). If you want a good Francesca's, go to the one on Taylor St. or the one in Frankfort, IL.

Love the food. The service was a little slow, but we went on Friday night and it was unusually buzy. But overall a great experience. We will be back!

I had an amazing pork shoulder at brunch here the other day. My only disappointment with the renovation is that the amazing fresh ricotta with pepper and honey is no longer on the menu.
