Coming soon, Once Upon A Bakery combines the magic and nostalgia of your favorite story books with baked goods featuring unexpected flavors and combinations of flavors.

Owner Christina LaSorda is hoping to capture a whimsical feeling in both the space and the food. A big tree inside with book pages as leaves is planned for the space. And one of the cupcake flavors includes a honey cake with a blueberry compote filling and basil buttercream frosting.

The menu online includes: Snickerdoodle Muffins, Bacon Cheddar Chive Scones, Croissants, Toffee Chunk Cookies, Salted Caramel Macaroons, Double Fudge Brownie Bars, Banana Cream Pie, Key Lime Tarts, 40+ cupcakes plus soups, sandwiches and salads made daily.

The 2,500 square foot space will accommodate approximately 45 people. Look for Once Upon A Bakery to open in Wicker Park in January 2014.
